Empty Me ~ Song Of The Week

Empty Me ~ Song Of The Week

John 3:30 says, “He must increase, but I must decrease.” And that pretty much sums up this week’s song.

Too many times we let ourselves get in the way. In HIS way. We let our thoughts, desires, feelings, etc. take over our lives. It’s time for God’s children to take a stand, raise a standard, make a choice! It’s time for us to get rid of all the junk we allow to clutter our lives and fill ourselves with Him.

Nothing else we desire is worth it. God is all that matters and His word says to seek His kingdom first, then everything else will be added (Matthew 6:33). He must come first, above anything and everything else. And if there are things in our lives that cause problems, hurt or confusion, why keep them? So go ahead…ask Him to burn away the things that don’t need to be there. See that you rid yourself of yourself and be filled with nothing but Him. Oh yeah, did I mention I’m writing to myself?

HOLY FIRE
by Jeremy Camp

Holy Fire burn away,
My desire for anything
That is not of you and is of me.
I want more of you and less of me.

Holy Fire burn away,
My desire for anything
That is not of you and is of me,
I want more of you and less of me, yeah.
Empty me,
Empty me, yeah,
Fill, won’t you fill me,
With you, with you, yeah.

Holy Fire, burn away,
My desire for anything
That is not of you and is of me.
I want more of you and less of me, yeah.
Empty me,
Empty me, yeah.
Fill, won’t you fill me, with you, with you, empty me now.

Well won’t you empty me, well won’t you empty me now. repeat x2
I want more, I want more, I want more of you, Jesus.
I want more, I want more, oh.
Thank you, Jesus.
Thank you, Jesus, oh yeah,
Thank you, Jesus, yeah.
Holy Fire, Holy Fire, Holy Fire, Holy Fire.
