Go And Sin No More – Song Of The Week!

Go And Sin No More – Song Of The Week!

This morning as I was reading in John, I came upon John 8:11

“She said, ‘No one, Lord,’ And Jesus said to her, ‘Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.'”

I’ve always loved this story. The scribes and Pharisees bring a woman to Jesus who was caught in the act of adultery; they wanted to stone her. Jesus said that whoever didn’t have sin in his life was more than welcome to throw the first stone. That shut them up real quick. He then showed the woman His grace and mercy. He didn’t condemn her, He just told her to go and sin no more. As humans, we are quick to judge and condemn others. Then we even have the nerve to get upset when other humans do the same to us. We could really learn a lesson from Jesus!

As I read verse 11, I was reminded of a song I hadn’t heard in years. Something silly/unique/different/weird that I do is draw a small music note beside any scripture I read that I’ve heard in a song. I know it’s strange, but it’s amazing how many music notes there are drawn in my Bibles! Therefore, I added a music note beside verse 11 and had to look up the song that crossed my mind.

Remember, Jesus will never condemn you. He only forgives. Let he without sin cast the first stone.

Go and Sin No More

Rebecca St. James
I’ve sinned, come on my knees
For I’m not worthy of Your love
How could You die for me
Such grace can only come from God

Oh Lord, You search and You know me
You see me inside out
God, You alone can forgive me
Erase my fear and my doubt
Father, You pick me up
I feel like a child in Your arms
I don’t deserve this love,
but I hear Your voice, Lord Jesus

CHORUS:
Go and sin no more
He said “I will not condemn you,
I’ll forgive and I’ll forget it all
Go and sin no more
My child, let me remind you it
is I who’ll lead and guide you as you go”

You are my purpose – You are the reason that I live
I want to be like You – Help me to love and to forgive
God, let me not be distracted
Lord, help me focus on You
Keep sin from ruling my life, Lord – make me holy and pure
Father, You pick me up – I feel like a child in Your arms
I don’t deserve this love but, I hear Your voice Lord, Jesus

CHORUS

Wipe, wipe away
Take, take away
Break, break away
Fill my life, make it right
Father, help me, Father, help me go

CHORUS:

I’ve sinned, come on my knees, how could You die for me
You search my heart – know my thoughts
See me inside out and all throughout me
You alone can forgive me
You always pick me up – like a child in Your arms
I could stay with Your forever here

I’m not alone! I also draw musical notes in my bible next to verses that have been put to music. Thanks for sharing.
