I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day – A Special Christmas Song Of The Week

This is one of my favorite Christmas songs (tune in next week for another of my favorites!) and I think you’ll enjoy it as well.

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”- Luke 2:14

Can you imagine the sound of the angels singing the above scripture? I bet it sounded heavenly. 😉

Song of the Week Christmas Edition

I Heard the Bells
Casting Crowns

I heard the bells on Christmas day

Their old familiar carols play

And mild and sweet their songs repeat

Of peace on earth good will to men

And the bells are ringing

Like a choir they’re singing

In my heart I hear them

Peace on earth, good will to men

And in despair I bowed my head

There is no peace on earth I said

For hate is strong and mocks the song

Of peace on earth, good will to men

But the bells are ringing

Like a choir singing

Does anybody hear them?

Peace on earth, good will to men

Then rang the bells more loud and deep

God is not dead, nor doth He sleep

The wrong shall fail, the right prevail

With peace on earth, good will to men

Then ringing singing on its way

The world revolved from night to day

A voice, a chime, a chant sublime

Of peace on earth, good will to men

And the bells they’re ringing

Like a choir they’re singing

And with our hearts we’ll hear them

Peace on earth, good will to men

Do you hear the bells they’re ringing?

The life the angels singing

Open up your heart and hear them

Peace on earth, good will to men

Peace on earth, Peace on earth

Peace on earth, Good will to men

While You Were Sleeping: Christmas Song Of The Week

This is one of my favorite Christmas songs and I wanted to share it with you all so you can really listen to the lyrics. There is a seriousness to it that makes you realize the nation of America needs to wake up.

It especially struck me today, after hearing of the horrific tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Our greatest comfort will be when Jesus comes back, and I pray that we will not be sleeping when He comes to receive His bride.

Please be in prayer for everyone involved in the tragedy, and for all the lost souls worldwide.

While You Were Sleeping
Casting Crowns
Oh little town of Bethlehem
Looks like another silent night
Above your deep and dreamless sleep
A giant star lights up the sky
And while you’re lying in the dark
There shines an everlasting light
For the King has left His throne
And is sleeping in a manger tonight

Oh Bethlehem, what you have missed while you were sleeping
For God became a man
And stepped into your world today
Oh Bethlehem, you will go down in history
As a city with no room for its King
While you were sleeping
While you were sleeping

Oh little town of Jerusalem
Looks like another silent night
The Father gave His only Son
The Way, the Truth, the Life had come
But there was no room for Him in the world He came to save

Jerusalem, what you have missed while you were sleeping
The Savior of the world is dying on your cross today
Jerusalem, you will go down in history
As a city with no room for its King
While you were sleeping
While you were sleeping

United States of America
Looks like another silent night
As we’re sung to sleep by philosophies
That save the trees and kill the children
And while we’re lying in the dark
There’s a shout heard ‘cross the eastern sky
For the Bridegroom has returned
And has carried His bride away in the night

America, what will we miss while we are sleeping
Will Jesus come again
And leave us slumbering where we lay
America, will we go down in history
As a nation with no room for its King
Will we be sleeping
Will we be sleeping

United States of America
Looks like another silent night
