Now we all have our ups and downs and battles and bad days. I depend on my Heavenly Father to get me thru those times. And boy, do I have a lot of them!
That said, (let me pull out my soap box right quick), OK, I can not stand a nasty attitude, especially in a grown woman. It looks nasty and sounds nasty when woman go around bad mouthing, threatening to whoop somebody, and always trying to tell somebody off. It’s a big turn off for potential friendship.
In Ephesians 4:29 says,
“Let no corrupt communication come out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use if edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.”
Lying, gossip, telling someone off, and bad language all fall under corrupt communication.
2 Corinthians 6:17 & 18 –
“Wherefore, come out from amoung them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing, and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”
Being a Christian, I can not live like the world. I have to set myself apart from all things that are not of Christ. Which means that I can not pop off at the mouth or tell everything I know about someone. I have to live a separated life and ask God to “create in me a clean heart.” (Psalms 51:10)
“How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things!”
Blessings and cursings do not come out of the same fountain. I can not stand it when people say that they are desperately praying for this or that, or praying for someone, and in the next breath, they are cursing someone else or putting someone down. I do not believe that God honors prayers from a heart that does not honor Him. It stinks in His nostrils. You want Him to do something for you, but you don’t have time to live for Him? You don’t put Him first but you want things your way?
Strive to spread the good things in life and of God and to speak the gospel of peace, not corruption. When you find yourself falling being and into old habits, just cry out, “Oh Lord Jesus, help me!”, and He will be there for you.
Has God ever told you something or showed you something that was TOTALLY off the wall? As I stated in one of my earlier blogs, “His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways!”
As some of you may recall, God told Abraham and Sarah in their old age, that they would have a child. And to this, SARAH LAUGHED!!!!! Her response to our awesome, mighty God, was a laugh!! Can you imagine, being in your nineties and having a child? Ha, I couldn’t imagine having one in my forties or fifties!
“On a Sunday morning, Holy Spirit was moving heavily through out the church. There was a huge crowd and several visitors in the congregation. Out of nowhere, which is very unusual, the piano player casually walked up to the piano, and sat down UNDER the piano with her bible. Of course all eyes were on her and lots of confused looks on peoples faces. Then all of a sudden, a sinner man started walking the aisle from the back of the church, all the way up to the alter. He cried out, “I told God that if He was really real and wanted me to come to Him, to have someone do something out of the ordinary or crazy to show Himself to me.”
God had told the piano player to go sit under the piano. She was flabbergasted and thought that it was her imagination at first, but God was persistent. If she had not been obedient to the unctioning of Holy Spirit, a soul would have walked out, still lost.
Who says that God doesn’t like fun? He can be VERY humorous at times. He gives us joy in our hearts for a reason. Being a Christian is not gloom and doom. God loves us soooo much that He likes to sneak in silly, somewhat off the wall, things to let us know that it’s OK to laugh and be out of the ordinary. 🙂
To begin, a couple of months ago, Angie told me about the “blog” thing that she was wanting to get going, and told me to pray about joining her. Well, I’ve always kept a journal of sorts, and I constantly have thoughts running thru my head so I’d jot a note here or write something down there. I never thought about my writing being a part of a ministry.
So, the more I thought about it, I really started getting excited! Finally, an outlet for my creative thinking! I knew God had to give it to me for a reason. It is actually in my blood. My dad has been a writer for years. He has actually written thousands of stories and poems, and he is most definitely where I get my art of dry humor. (Not to mention the countless songs he has written.)
My mother also has a humor that my sister and I definitely get. So having a ‘funny bone’ from both sides of the family, is a double whammy!
It is important to teach our children to laugh. To find humor in the little things and of course, that there is a time and a place for it. For instance, I know that if a child ‘poots’ or ‘belches’, it makes a funny sound. Children want to laugh at this by instinct. I would be mortified if my children made a huge deal of it in public or in front of guest in my home. On the other hand, if we are home alone, they can laugh over it to their hearts content. Now, I know that others do not share this view, but that’s O.K., we are all different. AND, everybody does it. =)
Finally, I consented to Angie and said, “I guess I’ll do it”, in my best Eeyore voice, or type… Though the inside of me was like, Wow, I can’t believe that I’m gonna be a part of something. A plan was coming together.
I know that I will make several mistakes in my typing and grammar, and that I’m going to mix up my Bible stories at some point, (LOL thank u to my brother-in-law for pointing that out!), and that some blogs will be more humorous, while others will be on the serious side, But bare with me! We all make mistakes and I’m not going to pretend that I don’t. I make tons of them. I am excited that this thing is launched and that we are able to minister to mothers and mothers at heart, and whom ever else reads this. (We definitely know that life can be hard at times and we want to be a bright spot in your day.)
“Lord, teach me to love. Show me how to care for others. Cause my soul to burn within for the fellowship of my brothers. Only You can break these chains that have held me for so long. Your my hope, my only hope. Teach me to love.”
The new testament is FULL of God telling us, in one way or another, to LOVE. Love others and treat others as you would want them to treat you. How can something so simple, be so hard at times? We make it hard. Loving comes easy for me, but opening up my heart to let others get close, is another story. I have the fear of being hurt. Therefore, I pray the above chorus, because it should be the way we all want our hearts to be.
Women are emotional creatures. When we love, we love deeply. When we hurt, we hurt deeply. Our thought process is 100% different from a man’s. If a situation happens that involves both, my husband and I, it will eat at me for days, while David forgets about it shortly. I really wish that I had the ability to let things roll off of me. It is like a chain that weighs you down and takes away your ability to breath deeply and easily. God doesn’t want us to feel that way. That is why He tells us that His yoke is easy and His burden is light!
We can not truly know how to love someone, unless God’s love is in us. It’s a love like no other and doesn’t cost a thing. God always loves us no matter what. Even if you choose to turn away from Him, He still loves you. God has an endless love.
As mothers, or those of you that are mothers at heart, it is our responsibility to teach the love of God to our children. Though the above is just a chorus from a song long ago, it makes a great prayer for you to teach your child or children. If we do not teach them Christ’s love, the world will teach them a cheap imitation of it. I for one, do not want my children short changed on Agape love!
Have a great day and love you all tremendously!!! =)
When you have a true anointing, Satan will try EVERYTHING that he can, to stop your ministry from flowing! You are a huge threat to him. I know that he has thrown lots of things my way to shut me up. I’ve allowed him to stop my ministry so that others can do what they are called to do, without me being in the way. Not that I’m this great, awesome singer or anything, it’s just when God places a calling on you, it is without question. I have lived by the motto: “I’d rather sit back in defeat because God has not called me to compete!” Many Christians in today’s society, have turned ministry, of every kind, into a competition of sorts. That is definitely NOT God’s will. That is another reason why ‘many are called, but few are chosen.’
We are supposed to be ONE body. To work together for the salvation of souls, not to put on one man shows or performances for mans benifit. When you ‘minister’ for someone to hear you or see you, you may need to do a heart check.
I’ve had to ask God’s forgiveness for letting foolish things block His flow in me. On the other hand, I don’t want to come across uncaring or hurt others feelings. I don’t want ANYONE to feel the pain that I have endured over the past year and a half. When you are not allowing Holy Spirit to work in you, it causes pain physically, mentally, and spiritually. It caused friendships to be ruined. Unhappiness in your heart because satan has stolen your joy. Bitterness because others are getting to do YOUR hearts desire.
The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 1:6,
“Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.”
Remember the gift that God has placed in your spirit. Don’t sit on it, for time is short. I am preaching to myself. I had to eat this before I could feed it to the public.
I know Who has called me and I will do my best for His benefit. My desire is to be pleasing to God and to spread His word. Be blessed and allow God to flow through you.
In today’s economy, it’s very easy to be discouraged about our financial woes. To think about the needs, the wants, and wishes…
Picture this, Sicily, 1923…. Just Joking (for those of you who get this! 🙂 )
You take your children into your local department store, mall, etc, and hear a chorus of “Can I get this?”, “Can I have one of those?”, “When can I get one?”, “That’s not fair; Why does everyone else get one?” Can’t you just hear it now? From a young age, I have tried to teach my children that we can not keep up with the Jones’. God made us the Wilds and we have a hard enough time keeping up with ourselves!
God has been the One to carry us through our good times and bad times. My husband and I have been married 14 and a half years, and if it had not been for God’s guidance, who knows where we would be right now. We are not financially set by any means. We are actually late on a few bills. But we do not lean on any person or thing to get us through. David works 2 jobs to take care of our 4 children and ourselves. We do not have government help. (If you can get it, go for it, but I believe it will be non-existant before too long, but that’s another story for another time.) We only have God to rely on! We are not spoiled. My children are not spoiled. We are blessed!
You ask, “how can I call myself “blessed” when I don’t know where the money will be coming from to make my next house or car payment, or to pay the next high electricity bill?” Well, you’re reading this right now, so that means God woke you up and you still have breath in you! Most of you do get at least 3 meals a day. That is a huge blessing compared to knowing that there are those out there who haven’t eaten in days.
The Bible tells us in Matthew 6:28-34:
“And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall He not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”
God knows every little thing that we have need of! He is Jehovah Jireh – my Provider! Seek Him first. He says right here in His word, for us not to dwell on our needs, but to have faith that He will meet them. Thank You, God, for Your blessings on me!
Satan would try to make us doubt and bring fear into our lives, but he was defeated long ago. Do not fear whether or not you will make it. Our lives are in Gods hands!
So until next time, may God lead you and guide you, and reign Himself on you!
A daughter of the Most High King,
