Do It, Lord – Song Of The Week

I picked the song “Set a Fire” to sort of be my one song for 2014. However, I wanted to share this song to be another sort of anthem song for 2014. Where “Set a Fire” is more my heart’s cry for myself, “Do It, Lord” is my heart’s cry for this nation and this world! Every time I listen to this song and sing these words, all I can think is, “Yes, please! Do it, Lord!” This is what we need.

Imagine what would happen if all of us began to add these lyrics into our prayer time! After all, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Do It, Lord

Bryn Waddell

I see Your glory covering the earth

just like the water covering the sea

I see the millions coming to salvation

I see revival fire in the land
I see the lost, nameless ones remembered

I hear the widow shouting out Your praise

I see the friendless loved and celebrated

Orphans fulfilling Your calling on their lives

Do it, Lord, Do it, Lord,

Do it Lord, we are praying

Do it, Lord, do it that Your glory may be seen

I see forgiveness overtaking hatred

Pride and prejudice now giving way to love

I see depression replaced with joy and gladness

and Satan’s lies they are bowing to the truth

I see the brokenness of families brought to wholeness

I see every prodigal running home to You

Father’s hearts they are turning towards their children

and children’s hearts they are turning towards their fathers

I see the church rising up in power

laying down their lives in unity and of love

I hear the sound of every tribe and nation

giving glory to Jesus Christ the Son

Emily’s Song Of The Year For 2014 – Set A Fire

Want to see more posts from us about how we are trying to start the year off right? Click here!

Songs and music are the same to me as scriptures/passages—different ones speak to me in different seasons. I can never pick just ONE favorite song. EVER. And I had a hard time deciding on a “song of the year” for 2014, because I knew that like always, many different songs would minister to me throughout this year. However, I managed to pick one.

Starting The Year Off Right

Why did I pick “Set a Fire?” It is a simple song with simple lyrics, but this year and at all times, I want these lyrics to be my heart’s cry. I want my soul to scream these words to heaven. There should never be a time in my life when these words don’t apply. I am ready to burn!

Set a Fire
United Pursuit Band

No place I would rather be
No place I would rather be
No place I would rather be
Than here in your love, here in your love
Set a fire down in my soul
That I can’t contain that I can’t control
I want more of You, God
I want more of You, God
I want more, I want more
I want more, I want more
I want more, I want more of you
Pour it out

Mary, Did You Know? – A Special Christmas Song Of The Week

There are several Christmas songs that I love, but if I absolutely had to pick just one, this would probably be it. I love the lyrics, so I’m going to let them speak for themselves. Enjoy!

*Note: This song has been recorded by many artists, and I love just about every version that I’ve heard. However, I love hearing it done by the writer of the song himself, Mark Lowry. He does an amazing job!

Song of the Week Christmas Edition

Mary, Did You Know?
Mark Lowry

Mary did you know that your baby boy would some day walk on water?
Mary did you know that your baby boy would save our sons and daughters?
Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new?
This child that you’ve delivered, will soon deliver you.

Mary did you know that your baby boy would give sight to a blind man?
Mary did you know that your baby boy would calm a storm with his hand?
Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
And when your kiss your little baby, you have kissed the face of God.

Oh Mary did you know

The blind will see, the deaf will hear, the dead will live again.
The lame will leap, the dumb will speak, the praises of the lamb

Mary did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary did you know that your baby boy would one day rule the nations?
Did you know that your baby boy is heaven’s perfect Lamb?
This sleeping child you’re holding is the great I am

Be Born In Me (Mary) – A Special Christmas Song Of The Week

So young and entrusted with such an amazing calling- to carry, deliver, and raise the child of God. “Let it be to me according to your word.” (Luke 1: 38) An overwhelming task for many, yet she chose to do the will of God. Blessed was she among all women!

Song of the Week Christmas Edition

Be Born In Me
Francesca Battistelli

Everything inside me cries for order
Everything inside me wants to hide
Is this shadow an angel or a warrior?
If God is pleased with me, why am I so terrified?
Someone tell me I am only dreaming
Somehow help me see with Heaven’s eyes
And before my head agrees, my heart is on it’s knees
Holy is He. Blessed am I.

Be born in me, be born in me
Trembling heart, somehow I believe that You chose me
I’ll hold you in the beginning, You will hold me in the end
Every moment in the middle, make my heart your Bethlehem
Be born in me

All this time we’ve waited for the promise
All this time You’ve waited for my arms
Did You wrap yourself inside the unexpected
So we might know that Love would go that far?

Be born in me, be born in me
Trembling heart, somehow I believe that You chose me
I’ll hold you in the beginning, You will hold me in the end
Every moment in the middle, make my heart your Bethlehem
Be born in me

I am not brave
I’ll never be
The only thing my heart can offer is a vacancy
I’m just a girl
Nothing more
But I am willing, I am Yours

Where Would You Be? – Song Of The Week

I won’t say much because the song speaks for itself. However, whether you believe it’s soon or years and years away, the key is to be prepared. It’s so important that we be ready. And we are not promised tomorrow. Where would you be if Jesus came back 5 minutes ago?

Where Would You Be

Brian Free

This morning’s front page headline reads disaster strikes once more

Writing on the wall is just too great to be ignored

Floods and earthquakes everywhere, violence plagues our land

The last days are upon us, Christ’s coming is at hand

Where would you be had Jesus come back 5 minutes ago?

Would you still be here alone and lost without hope?

He will return as a thief in the night

Will you be taken or left behind?

Where would you be had Jesus come back 5 minutes ago?

The lost and dying world must face the judgment seat one day

They’re hanging in the balance for this crime they must pay

Refusing to accept God’s grace, how could they be so blind?

The sand is quickly pouring through the hourglass of time

Mother Nature, Father Time

won’t stop or change God’s plan

Prophecies have been fulfilled

He’s coming back again!

Unforgiven – Song Of The Week

You know what’s amazing? When we honestly seek God for forgiveness, He gives it instantly. However, we are much harder on ourselves.

As humans, we tend to live in guilt brought on by our wrong doings. And satan, being the accuser, is constantly trying to bring up this or that. But when God forgives, He casts our sins as far as the east is to the west. When we’re beating ourselves up for past mistakes, God is saying, “I don’t even know what you’re talking about.”

It’s time for us to realize just how truly amazing our God is and to begin living a forgiven life.

Unforgiven
Crabb Revival

I’m tired of living here in this place

Where sins are looked down on, never washed away

I’m always running from debts already paid

I’m tired of living unforgiven

I’m letting go of old regrets

How many times can I take back words I said

And there are some I never will forget

But I’m tired of living unforgiven

I’m layin’ down my pain with the other broken souls

And this time, I’ll leave it all behind me when I go

I’m washing my hands where the healing water flows

I’m tired of living unforgiven

I’m not denying who I’ve been

I’m just confessing who I’ll never be again

And I’m walking away from the grave of that man

I’m tired of living unforgiven

Oceans (Where Feet May Fail) – Song Of The Week

I wonder what Peter was thinking, how he was feeling. I mean, he wasn’t the only disciple in the boat. He wasn’t the only one who saw Jesus coming. But He was the only one who asked to go to Him, instead of just waiting. Yes, Jesus was heading their way to meet them. And He’ll meet us, too. But sometimes I’d like to just get out of the boat and make my way to meet Him!

Maybe that’s how Peter felt. Maybe it went something like this, “I know You’ll come to me, Lord, but I can’t wait any longer. I’ve got to get to You now! I don’t want You to come to where I am, cause Lord, I don’t want to stay here. I’d much rather come to where You are!”

Yes, I do know that Peter became a little fearful. And when he became a little fearful, he looked away and fell. For anyone out there that has ever decided to step out of the boat, you know that this is usually where the story ends. You’ve fallen. You took your eyes off of the Savior and stumbled. Waves are crashing around you and all you can think now is, “Why did I ever try to leave the boat??”

BUT JESUS!!! Yes, that’s right! But Jesus stretched out His hand and grabbed on to Peter’s. He lifted him up right out of the crashing waves. And He wants to do the same for you. He doesn’t want you to give up just because you fell. He longs for you to trust Him, let Him help you up again, and keep going. So whatever you’re stepping away from, trust the Lord. Keep your eyes on Him. And if you fall, grab His hand and get back up! Rest in His embrace!

Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)
Hillsong United

You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep my faith will stand

And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You’ve never failed and You won’t start now

So I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger in the presence of my Savior

Better Day – Song Of The Week

How many times have you stressed out over a horrible day? How many times have you muttered under your breath, “I wish I could just wake up and start this day all over again”? How many times have you dealt with this person or that sickness or a bad day at work or not enough money for the bill that’s due now or….. I could go on. BUT those days don’t last. Not unless you let them. You can either wallow in self pity, or choose to get up and see that a better day’s coming.

Yes, it can get rough. Yes, it can be overwhelming. Yes, you probably just want to SCREAM!!!!!!!!! Believe me… I know all about it! But I’ve learned that you don’t have to give in to the stress. Just breathe. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. That’s it. Keep going. You’re doing great!

Now here’s a tip I learned from our very own Judye Jackson that you can use the next time you think you’re having a pretty rotten day and you feel like you’re going to lose it:

“Whenever I think I’m having a bad day, I remember that Jesus had a REALLY BAD day one Friday…”

It can become a little much at times, so I understand. But Jesus had the ultimate bad day. And thanks to Him, and through Him, we can overcome any bad day that comes our way!

Better Day

– Gaither Vocal Band
Could that view from your window be a little bit brighter?
Could that load you’ve been carrying feel a little bit lighter?

Well hold on, just hold on
That crayon sun’s got a smile on its face
Those clouds hangin‘ ’round no, they ain’t gonna stay
Keep your arms wide open ’cause it’s heading’ your way
Look, come yonder there’s a better day
Better day…better day…

Could those legs you’ve been walkin‘ on feel a little bit stronger?
Could that rain you‘ve been walking through not last much longer?

Well hold on, just hold on
Oh, that crayon sun’s got a smile on its face
Those clouds hangin‘ ’round, no they ain’t gonna stay
Keep your arms wide open ’cause it’s heading’ your way
Look, come yonder there’s a better day
Better day…better day…

Could those dreams you’ve been dreamin‘ find a few more believers?
Could that song you’ve been singin‘ be a little bit sweeter?

There’s gonna be a better day
There’s gonna be a better day

O The Blood – Song Of The Week

Often we find the focus placed on the cross, but was the cross really so unusual? No. Many were crucified on a cross. It was nothing new. The difference was in the particular man hanging on that cross. And oh, how amazing is (not was) His blood. What a sacrifice!

O The Blood

– Kari Jobe

Verse 1
O the blood, crimson love, price of life’s demand
Shameful sin placed on Him, the hope of every man

Chorus
O the blood of Jesus washes me
O the blood of Jesus shed for me
What a sacrifice that saved my life
Yes, the blood it is my victory

Verse 2
Savior son, Holy one, slain so I can live
See the lamb, the great I am, who takes away my sin

Bridge
O the blood of the lamb (x3)
The precious blood of the lamb

Verse 3
O what love, no greater love, grace how can it be
That in my sin, yes, even then
He shed his blood for me

Everything’s Gonna Turn Out Right – Song Of The Week

It’s always easy to trust God for someone else. Why is that? Maybe because we’re human. However, we can always stand on His promises, no matter what. He will never leave us, nor forsake us. He is incredible and His love for us never fails! He is not just a god, He is THE God and He is the God we can count on.

Don’t listen to the world, the enemy, etc. Know that when your hope and faith is in Jesus, everything’s gonna turn out right! You’ll see 😉

P.S. Whenever God works those things out for you, please be sure and share it with us on our Praise Reports wall. We’d love to praise with you! He is worthy!

P.S.S. I love The Isaac’s and I love this video, but I also wanted to share my favorite version of this song, sung by a Facebook friend of mine, Taylor Wilson.

Everything’s Gonna Turn Out Right

by The Isaacs

Don’t make no difference what the doctor said
Anything is possible
You’re talking bout the man who opened blinded eyes
And even raised the dead
So don’t listen to the world tell you hope is gone
Press on, brother, sister
Keep pressing on
Listen to me now

Everything’s gonna turn out right
Said He’d never leave you in the dead of night
So fix your eyes on the light of the sun
Don’t look back. Walk on.
You can’t see where you’re going when you hang your head
Got to have a little faith in what the good book said
Everything’s gonna work out
Everything’s gonna turn out right
You’ll see

It don’t make no difference what the banker said
Don’t worry about tomorrow
You’ll never see the righteous forsaken
Or His seed out begging for bread
Just do your best to live the way you should
And He’ll take your circumstances
And He’ll work them for your good

He said He’d be near the brokenhearted
He’s touched by all our suffering
It doesn’t matter what you have to face
He’s already covered it with His grace
And His strength is made perfect in me
When I am Me, Me
