Okay, so I’ve sort of tossed it around in my head a little bit, and I think I’ve finally decided to do it. Remember all those years ago when there were things like 8 Track Radios and dinosaurs? Well, there was also a thing called Myspace. My dad would get on
Myspace and create notes (or whatever it was they were called) that he would call “Song of the Day.” Now, being that it was my dad, there was no telling what kind of song he’d pull out of the hat, but it was always interesting for sure.
That being said, I’ve decided to create a blogging series entitled “Song of the Week.” I promise I’m going to try my best to have these blogs come in actual 7Days=1Week time, and not the same WheneverIGetTheChanceToGetItOrganizedAndTypedUp=1Week that I have been using for my Memory Verse Series blog (I also promise that I’m going to try my best to fix that….it’s just that I’m a mom). For all I know, considering my schedule, it could turn in to “Song of the Month,” and sometimes I might even get finger-typing happy and you’ll end up with “Song of the Day.” Only time will tell….bumbumbum.
As the juices in my brain are semi-flowing (I do tend to try and be asleep after midnight, but I’m interested to see where this is headed since it’s 1:02am), I’m going to leave you with your very first song of the week (which means it’s also the very first SONG OF THE YEAR!) and it is not going to be Auld Lang Syne (go ahead and get it out of your system now so it doesn’t get stuck in your head for later).
Whatever happened in 2011, let it go. It’s over. Whatever happens in 2012, it’s going to happen so let it happen. And in all of the happenings, you can rest assured that if you’re a child of God, no matter what, everything is going to be all right.
I’VE GOT A FEELING
Written and made popular by Walt Mills
God sent Moses to lead all His people out
But Pharoh’s heart was hardened, He thought He’d give ’em a new route.
So he chased them all down to the Red Sea shore,
He thought he wouldn’t have to worry ’bout Moses anymore.
But Moses stretched His rod out over the sea,
And the Lord answered Moses with a little gentle breeze,
I can Moses now with a smile on his face,
Telling all the people with his gentle grace;
A little boy named David went out to fight the giant,
and everyone laughed at such a funny little sight.
A little shepherd boy armed only with a sling,
Beside mighty Goliath, seem like such a puny little thing,
But David said, You’ve come to me with a spear and a sword,
But I come to you in the name of the Lord.
He put in a stone and he gave it a fling
And when it left his hand, David he began to sing;
And now for the greatest story of them all,
Jesus was a dyin’ and hell had a ball.
All the demons were rejoicing, they thought that they had won the war,
But soon they would not be laughing anymore.
On the first day of the week, the sun woke up the earth,
The caverns of the deep opened up as to give birth,
To a resurrected Saviour with healing in His wings,
And now the host of children rise and sing;
