Way before the ring was bought
and before the question was asked
God brought forth a man and woman
And then began a task
The roads were paved to lead the way
So a marriage could take place
God knew every detail
He could see her smiling face
He put her path before the man
And said that they shall wed
He knew what He was doing
Before the vows were even read
And what God has put together
Let no man tear apart
For seeds were planted long ago
In this man and woman’s heart
A lifetime of new memories
Are starting on this day
New dreams of Chris and Brandi
As they follow in God’s way
For with this ring placed on her hand
A promise has been made
A road to life planned out by God
A foundation has been laid
And with the vow and “I do’s” said
And a kiss to seal the day
The two are united now as one
As they follow in His way
And as the days turn into years
May they know their in God’s plan
For He was there long before
The ring was placed upon her hand
Written by Diania for her niece, Brandi, and her husband, Chris, who were wed on April 15th, 2012
These were the hands that rocked me gently
And kept me safe from harm
They gently guided me through life
And sheltered me in the storm
They worked for years to carry the weight
Of what should have been carried by two
They didn’t question the road they went down
They just did what they had to do
They guided my steps through a narrow path
They taught me the way I should go
And left them for me to sow
I learned John 3:16 before I could read
And to treat others with kindness and care
I knew if I had something you needed
It was left up to me to share
These hands weren’t created for idle work
They were created to show me the way
Though I never knew when these hands grew
They’d wave goodbye someday
As they folded in prayer at an old kitchen chair
Streaks of tears stained a table
For the promise of God was impressed in her heart
And with Him she knew she was able
Written on May 9th, 2012 for Diania’s Mom, whom went to Heaven on May 14th. “Momma” heard the poem and was very pleased. Diania is looking forward to seeing her Mom again, someday. Praise the Lord!
When a mother starts praying
You better step aside
Heaven’s gates will open and
Angels will sing inside
There’s no greater power
Than a mother on her knees
God sees her tears
He will answer her pleas
A child in need of prayer
Is God’s biggest concern
And offering up a prayer
Should be the first lesson we learn
It’s not His desire
To turn us away
He says seek me early
You’ll find me when you pray
A troubled child
Who has gone astray
Will find His way back
And thank you someday
A sick child waiting
For a miracle healing
Will covet your prayers through
The path they’ve been living
What other power
Do you hold in your hands
Anything short of prayer
Simply won’t stand
So fall on your knees
For the sake of your child
Your greatest reward
Will be their smile
You’re holding a gift
Clasped tight in your hand
God gave it to you
Now follow His plan
Merry Christmas Mr. Santa
Let me tell you why you’re here
This day’s not about you
There’s a reason for this cheer
The season’s all around us
There’s a spirit in the air
So listen while I tell you
What Christmas has to share
He was born to man a Savior
He knew His destiny
He lived a life of suffering
To save you and me
Now you take all the credit
For granting little one’s their wishes
But did you ever feed a
Multitude with five little fishes?
Did you ever stop a stormy sea
Or turn water into wine?
Did you ever open up deafened ears
Or give sight to the blind?
Did you ever heal a bleeding woman
And give comfort to her soul?
Did you give her peace within herself
And tell her she was whole?
Did you quicken some one’s spirit
As tears ran down their face?
Were you able to forgive their sins
And save them by your grace?
Did you walk for miles to raise
The dead across the desert sand?
Can you say you did all of this and
Calmed the sea with your hand?
Can you live up to how he died?
Can you even compare such a gift?
Can you add pain and suffering
To your Christmas list?
Do you feel somewhat guilty
For taking all the fame?
Do you know no matter what you do
You’ll never change His name?
Things would be so different
If they knew the true story
Of why we celebrate
A King in all of His Glory
You see Mr. Santa Claus
We’re not just cruising through
There really was a Savior
Born to save me and you
My Christmas wish is you
Believe in what is really true
There’s really not much else
I can’t think that you could do
My hope lies in a gift
That long ago left the tree
My hope is in my Savior
Who died for you and me
A-Way in a manger
Lay fast asleep
As the Eastern Star
Watched over the sheep
The animals gazing
As no sound was made
So great a King
Asleep He laid
Knowing too well
The prophecy of old
The Christ child to be born
As the story foretold
A mother so young
To give birth to a King
For generations to come
The earth would sing
A story of truth
Written down for all man
Even through time
The story would stand
A gift was given
To show the way
Will you give Him your heart
This Christmas day
No better gift would
He love to receive
Knowing the story of His son
And you chose you believe
As you decorate the Christmas tree
With ornaments of love
Memories your children made
Ceramic ginger breads hang above
Does it ever cross your mind
What your tree really means
Can you close your eyes
And imagine Jesus on the scene
A king born to deliver
The world from all of it’s sin
A gift no other man
Would ever give again
Born not only to die again
But for you and me to live
You could shop forever
And not find a better gift to give
We get a little crazy
Around this time of year
The meaning of this day
Just seems to disappear
If we take time to remember
Why we decorate the tree
Then Christmas Day would be
The greatest gift for you and me
By far the most popular flower God created. It’s beauty represents love, and friendship and it’s message is clear just by it’s color. Give a red rose and you are sending your love, give a yellow rose and friendship is sent.
Today I dropped my Rose off at the airport, normally I say my good byes knowing we will see each other again in a few months. Holding the tears in today proved to be a little harder then usual, tho I was able to contain them until I drove away…
This time around I realized, or finally admitted just how much I miss having my Becky (My Rose) around. She has grown into a beautiful woman, both inside and out. She is her mommy’s best friend and at the same time she is a daddy’s girl. She holds nothing back. I watched with amazement as she set down next to her daddy and put her arms around him not caring that there was a living room full of people. It took me back to when she was younger, when she was home, and I had her all to my self.
She is the red rose I love, she is my yellow rose whose friendship I will forever hold close to my heart. There’s times I just see the little girl and then, there’s times like today when I have to let the woman my little girl has become fly away home. 34 years ago I never imagined the little pink bundle I carried home from the hospital would be my best friend some day. She loves me in spite of my flaws, she has my smile, my heart and my love.
Every daughter should be a rose, picked especially for you by God. Every lil girl should be a daddy’s girl, free to sit down with daddy when ever and where ever she want’s. If your little girl needs a daddy hug or your husband just needs a daughter hug, I encourage you to help make that memory happen. After all Daddy isn’t going to be around forever.
So tell me, do you see a rose in your little girl? Are you watching her grow into a beautiful woman? Please don’t blink too long, don’t let the opportunity pass you by to see her bloom from a lil girl to a rose as red as your love is for her…
God blessed you, now enjoy your blessing. I promise you wont regret it. I know without a shadow of a doubt that I don’t….
I just wanted to let you know how wonderful Your plan is turning out for me. You took this woman of little confidence and a whole lot of shyness and You’re showing her just what she can do if she just seeks You. Things are definitely a little scary, but in the same sense they are exciting.
It is our desire to do this unto You, to let every woman and mommy know that if they put all their trust in You and just seek your face in prayer and give You all the glory in all You do for us. That they, too, can step out in Your boldness.
I also wanted to thank You for sending me a partner that is funny, smart, intelligent and Godly, I know with Your help and Your hand upon us we will do just fine. Stepping out in faith, Lord, is all a part of our growth in You… Who cares if i can’t even sew, I’m sure You have pulled Your people up from greater tragedy. And after all, I am willing to learn… I pray for guidance in all you have laid out before us, for Your plan to go exactly the way you designed it… A beautiful tapestry just waiting to be laid out for your Glory.
There’s lot’s here to learn from my new partner. And I believe if we don’t let go of Your hand we will do just great together. The two of us walking beside You while You lead us thru another era of our lives… Thank You Lord, and I look forward to working with You… After all you are the CEO and manager of our new business… You’re also the banker and any other job we may need You to handle… But most of all You’re the One we seek counseling from… I pray we call on You first in all we do. Once again I give You thanks, And get ready for some business calls, I’m sure we will be needing you…
How many of you remember that little song with the big meaning from your childhood, the one that only had a few repeated choruses about pulling together and how happy we’d be? I think we learn more from our younger years then we even realize, we take little songs and apply them to simple little things without having thought about that little tune since childhood.
Pulling together is the very importance of Christianity, getting the impossible done when it almost seems impossible, raising funds for children you will never meet, but knowing they will be blessed from something you and a handful of others felt led to do.
Pulling together somehow keeps the joy in your heart, the smile on your face and the skip in your walk. Age holds no barrier to helping, God can and will use any one who applies for the job. You just have to be willing. No paper work or application necessary, and you get full benefits with a vacation package your sure to be happy with when you reach paradise…
Today I watched everyone pull together, the job got done and I thank God for letting me be a part of such a wonderful group of Christians, SO IF WE ALL PULL TOGETHER, TOGETHER, TOGETHER, IF WE ALL PULL TOGETHER THE HAPPIER WE’LL BE……
For the biggest part I know most of us do the best we can, and love our children with everything we have. From the time we hear we are going to have our little bundle we are excited for the coming day. We think of our ”BABY” as just that, a ”BABY”. When in actuality we are raising an adult.
The baby years are the fastest years of your child’s life, everything he is taught in his first few years will be carried with him to adulthood. You are his teacher of life; There to show him how to grow into a Godly man. It was never Gods intention just to give you a baby and not expect you to train him up in the ways of the Lord. Whats expected of you goes far beyond diaper changing and toilet training. You have taken on the responsibility of raising one of Gods greatest gifts.
Being a mommy for a few years is the easy part. Being a mother is for life. You can choose to do this job with a loving heart and a lot of prayer, or you can sit back and just pray for the years to hurry and pass… But tell me, what kind of memories will you have if you don’t do your best to raise Gods greatest gift? There is no going back to change what’s already been done.
All the women who write here are not here to condemn or judge. We are simply mothers who have been through what you are going through. Here to try to make it just a little easier. The advice is all free, whether you choose to take it is up to you. How you choose to raise your child is up to you too. I pray you choose to tell him everyday about Jesus and pray for God’s hand to keep him from evil. Someday, when he is older he will thank you and call you blessed. He will know he had the best mother God could have given him. Another one of His greatest gifts.
So from Mommy to Mother, how will you choose to accept Gods gift? My prayers are with every mother out there doing one of the hardest and most important jobs in the world. May God bless you on your journey…
