Review & Giveaway!!! Child Training Bible

Review & Giveaway!!! Child Training Bible

Love at first sight—it does exist. How do I know? Because- from the first time I saw the Child Training Bible I was in love! What is the Child Training Bible? An awesome concept created by Mindy Dunn that makes teaching your children the word of God a little simpler. So simple, in fact, that children can use it themselves.

My husband and I have made up our minds to raise our children in a Godly environment. We want them to grow up to be women of God. We want them to be educated in His word, and that has to start with us. We must do our part and I’m so excited that I can use the Child Training Bible in the process.

I am determined to have my girls not only know the Bible, but to also understand it. For a little over a year now, we have been working on memorizing scripture. We take it at our own pace and don’t rush things. I want these scriptures to soak deep into their hearts, and am thrilled to say that they are also soaking into mine. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this isn’t just beneficial to my girls, it’s beneficial to me—which is one reason why I love the Child Training Bible so much.

Something I’ve noticed with kids (especially mine) is the phrase (usually used when they aren’t getting their way), “The Bible says share!” They also try other similar phrases, even though they aren’t educated enough in the word to back it up (don’t get me wrong, this is not me saying that it’s not there). One of the first two scriptures we’ve memorized are

“Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord.”-Colossians 3:20

“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long up the land which the Lord your God is giving you.”- Exodus 20:12.

When they try to use those phrases, I’m able to say, “Well, the Bible also says—” and I then quote the scripture. They can’t argue because they’ve learned it. With the Child Training Bible and it’s colorful tabs, we can quickly find these verses that are so important in training our children in the word of God—that’s another reason I love the Child Training Bible.

When showing the completed Bible to Naomi and Adah (5 and 3), I picked “Fighting” as a sample topic to explain to them how the Bible works. Naomi immediately said, “Yeah, cause sometimes me and Sissy fight a lot.” I flipped through and read a few of the verses, helping them understand the meaning and teaching them why fighting isn’t good. Later on that night, I overheard Naomi telling Adah, “The Bible says no fighting!” She had even read scriptures that day to prove it. 🙂

To make the Child Training Bible, you only need the following: Child Training charts, Bible (must be big enough to hold the charts), highlighters and tabs. The charts are available at  Child Training Bible’s Website. You can also purchase the other products needed from the website, via links. Putting it together took me around an hour- but I was a little bit of a perfectionist trying to get my tabs to line up just right. 😉

When I look at our Child Training Bible, I see the colorful tabs and highlighted scriptures and am reminded of the rainbow and God’s promises to us in His word. So far, we have enjoyed our use of the Bible and plan to use it (and share it) much more. And guess what—you have the chance to enter to win your very own Chart Set to get you started on your own Child Training Bible! Just enter below!

“Train up a child in the way he should go,, and when his is old he will not depart from it”

  • Our Favorite Scripture is Phil 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

  • Romans 8:28 – All things work together for good to them that love the LORD and are called according to His purpose. This is our go to verse whenever “bad” things happen.

I have been struggling on how to study the Bible with my son. I think this is a great idea. With my hubby not being a believer I have to add this into our day by myself and I think this would really help give me some direction. Thank you for sharing and I hope I win because I’m not sure that I will be able to buy it otherwise :/

  • My family’s favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5 & 6. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowled Him and He will direct your paths.”

  • I have been looking at the CTB for about a month now. Wishing I could get one. It looks amazing. Not sure who would get more out of it, my kids, my husband, or myself. Do not have the money to buy one so have been praying for God to provide a way for me to be able to get one. Would love to win one or maybe God will provide the extra money needed for me to be able to purchase one! I am trying really hard to trust in the Lord to provide my family with what I need. I’m not sure what my favorite scripture is. It is the one that says God knows all of our plans and hearts desires and if we ask and follow Him. He will give us more than we asked for in His own time.

I’ve been wanting a CTB for quite awhile now and am raising three myself, 5, 3, and 1, oldest a girl and two younger boys. My daughter has already given me struggles and a glimpse into the future of what she MIGHT become (deceitful, not wanting to do what God wants her to do, wanting to be more like her worldly cousins) and I would really love this guide. I personally am at a loss unless it has some sort of structure to it and the CTB is just that. As for my favorite verses, I’d have to say the whole Proverbs 31 passage in trying to be a godly woman and implementing that in day-to-day life. Have a nice weekend!

Rom 3:22b-25a For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith.

  • I would love to win one so I can put it together for my sister who is pregnant.
It looks like an amazing product.

  • Oh and favorite scripture would be…hmmm…1 John 4:17-18
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgement; because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

  • Jesus wept. It reminds us that even in His Divinity, He was so very human. Beautiful verse.
